Sorry steve, may well of seen you but couldn't remember them all over the week! J |
Im going up to the lakes for the weekend with my missus for the birthday...:D what are the roads like any good ones and is there many speed cameras i need to be aware of.
Darren |
Dunno but theres no street lights!!!!
|
I was there from Fri to Mon (nr Langwathby) and driving around the lakes and i didn't see anyone at all! You were all obviously hiding behind roadsigns and bushes as my DBM classic lumbered around 4-up plus kit.

Don't expect to thrash round the country lanes in your scoobie!
You'll spend more time stopping to let others by or reversing to a passing place! Wrynose/Hardnott pass is a must for the sheer experience and the view but hard on the brakes! Didn't see any speed camera's but quite a few plods about, so just beware! Ace place to visit, especially the White Heart Inn at Bouth great food. J |
can't do clicky thingy
but for camara possitions try http://cumbriasafetycameras.org/schedule.php steve |

Like that Steven?;) There are no fixed position cameras in the Lakes...yet! I wouldn't say that Wrynose and Hardknott are good driving roads, too many tourists;)! Try a route something like this. From Keswick head west over Whinlatter Pass (Forests either side used by M-Sport for testing Focus WRC's). When you get to a village called Lorton turn South-ish and head to Buttermere. Then head over Newlands Pass or carry on to Honister Pass. Both start a little tight and rough but open out to nice driving roads complete with hairpins etc. |
got that route in my sat nav(ordnance survey atlas:D) so will be up there in the next couple of weeks.

Ooooooo never thought of that route and didn't get up that far whilst we were there last week!
I envy all you Cumbrian scoobie's, such a lovely place to live J |
