We invite you to our Sept meeting, taking place on Saturday 20th,
at which we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Impreza, by offering you the opportunity to enhance the handling of your car.

Here's an outline of the day. Locals (to me) can meet at the usual Coopers venue from around 10.30am. At 11.00 sharp we head off on a scenic drive to Scaynes Hill, near Haywards Heath, where there is a very fine public house called "The Farmers", on the A272 itself. Here we shall munch and imbibe. Directly opposite the pub is Scaynes Hill Garage, part of the Gatwick Motors Group, where the workshop and some keen (Subaru trained) staff will be available with a variety of handling improvement kits for classics and new-age. These can be tried on your car during the course of the afternoon. You are under no obligation to buy, the fitting service is free, and the kit can be taken off with your car returned to normal (whatever that is) for your trip home.

If you don't fancy the drive from Eastbourne, just drop in at the pub or the garage when you fancy, and marvel at the goings-on. Gatwick Subaru's own adopted test pilot, Subarman, will be available to discuss his experiences of the modifications on offer.

If it gets busy, and you don't get a chance to try the kit on the day, you can make your own arrangements for a trial fitting up at Gatwick Subaru.

This is a service to the local Subaru community, and is not a direct dealer promotion. Of course they would like you to buy stuff, and for you to become their customers, but you are under no obligation. And remember, the main meet is in the pub over the road. This is a side attraction to meeting up with your mates for a gossip/physical interaction and should be treated as such.

Keith, well done for organising this - great result. Sadly we won't be able to make it as we won't have the scoob then.... :(

Good luck to all though, sounds like a great day.

ScoobyK 19 August 2003 10:33 PM

Does this include imports aswell ??

p1bobsta 20 August 2003 09:24 AM

Sounds like a top plan... after the mediocre service I've received from my local dealer they me even get my servicing business too. (£400/2yr jobbie coming up :( )

darkblueturbo 20 August 2003 01:39 PM

what sort of handling mods are available for testing...??

If there's an AntiLift Kit for a classic (MY00) then I'll see if I can make the meet...

Nathan L 20 August 2003 03:01 PM

Steve

Don't worry the Scoob will return ;)

AFAIK

Keith

May not be able to afford bugger all but I'l certainly come up for the drive :D

Nathan..

fdpxfunix 20 August 2003 04:58 PM

I'm in ... and will meet you at the Pub :)

J

Krud 20 August 2003 07:56 PM

Will find out about anti lift kit.

Imports are okay, AFAIK. Will check.

SHOCK HORROR!!! I hear that, to replace the Scoob, Glenn has bought himself an MGB Roadster, cloth cap and scarf for Caroline!!!! Shame we could not have provided you with a Scoob cabriolet or something. Still, if you like the fresh air that much, then that's your business. Will you bring it to a meet, Glenn? Is it red? Has it got wire wheels?

ScoobyK 20 August 2003 09:22 PM

LOL...been there, done that....nearly as uncomfortable as a caterham for me !

Not sure what will be next....maybe back to a porker....something light and powerful....maybe heavy and powerful...or maybe do the sensible thing and pay a chunk off the mortgage and buy a RC Scoob !

Dyney 21 August 2003 11:38 AM

Nice one Keith:D

I'd be interested in the anti lift kit too.

We'll be there.

Krud 21 August 2003 07:23 PM

Imports are fine.

Anti lift kit will be available for both classic and new age.

Thanks Iain.

Mark E 21 August 2003 07:58 PM

Thanks Keith, I'll be there :)

ScoobyK 25 August 2003 08:30 AM

Are you sure you will now Mark...or can you not type to tell everyone with a broken hand ?.....!

Scott.T 25 August 2003 07:40 PM

Will be there, also see you next weekend (maybe with a few more add-ons).
Any idea what there prices are as I'm tempted just to buy the things anyway from Jap Innovations.

Krud 01 September 2003 06:17 PM

Bet you've all forgotten!

Rex93 01 September 2003 09:03 PM

will they have any ESS stickers? ;) are they competative for servicing? will they only have handling products there? not really looking to get a loud pipe or anything!!!!! do they have a creche:)

Krud 02 September 2003 07:29 PM

Ron

It's a handling test day - so only handling kits. However, Gatwick Motors are starting to get into the aftermarket tuning stuff - have a chat to them.

ScoobyK 02 September 2003 10:52 PM

Keith, are similar offers available to drivers of cars that they sell (ie Scoobs . Evos) after the event as we cannot make it on the day ....and would we just mention the dreaded phrase... "we know Suberman"....and when they stop laughing, they'd do us a deal ?!? ;)
:)

Krud 03 September 2003 07:55 PM

Yes - you will still get the free fitting and take it off if you don't like it afterwards. That's primarily cos there may not be time on the day to fit everybody in. Just make your own appointment and mention "that weird bloke", or "test pilot", and you're laughing (just like them).

ScoobyK 04 September 2003 12:40 PM

Thanks Keith....first Gatwick News, perhaps Fast Car next for Suberman...oh, and when do we get to see Suberwomen ? ;)

ScoobyK 04 September 2003 01:17 PM

OMFG....the world has finally gone crazy...and "suberworld folk" have gone public...is there no-where safe anymore ?

....;) :)

Nathan L 04 September 2003 01:23 PM

WTF ! :D

I beg to differ G.

Now Subarwoman is here we are all safe.

Like a guardian angel she will protect us ;) :p :D

Mark E 04 September 2003 02:13 PM

OMG ;)

Like a blinding light they arrive :)

Krud 04 September 2003 06:49 PM
