Right, a while back, we (well a few of us) agreed to organise the inaugrual Scooby Shoot Out challenge.

Many of have been to Track Days, many of us have been to Drag Strip days (not from one gender to another;)) and some of us will have attempted top speed runs (on track), so...

... we now have the event to combine all 3 events into one day ... http://www.scoobyshootout.co.uk.

As you can see a lot of people have signed up, and have expressed an interest in running..

.. the date is Sunday 28th September and the location is Elvington Airfield, near York (home of Ten of The Best).

If you wish to join in the fun (after all thats what it is about IMO) or if you wish to spectate, then mark it in your calendars.

Sign up or spectate and watch/participate in scooby's battling it out to see who has the quickest scoob over the 1/4 mile, who has the fastest scoob at 1.25 miles from a standing start, and who can handle the handling circuit the quickest.

You dont need power or an all singing all dancing car to take part, just the sense of enjoyment and the knowledge that you will have fun!.

Look forward to seeing you all.

Steven

Plantie 18 August 2003 07:14 PM

I think a location more central would see a better response.

having spoke to some of the southern people who went to TOTB2 it was too far away to guarentee them going back next year. Which is a shame.... :(

Just an thought for you guys though! The day sounds good!

Edcase 18 August 2003 08:01 PM

Micky - I doubt they would let you on with an unsafe roll cage ;)

POC 18 August 2003 08:17 PM

santa pod ;) :D

M0NEY 18 August 2003 08:49 PM

Should be a real good day.

I think we should keep this one, but also make another day more central as said above, bit to far for most of the southern lot.

Will be a really good day though and im going to try and get there :D

skiddus_markus 18 August 2003 08:55 PM

York is pretty central in the UK.Remember there are Irish,Scottish and Welsh owners too.
Santa Pod doesn't have the facilities and Silverstone would be much more expensive.By central, most southerners seem to mean London.

GREEN SCOOBY 18 August 2003 09:29 PM

i will be there to cheer you lot on

DubaiNeil 18 August 2003 09:32 PM

LMFAO,

'Central' seems to mean London only, I would be there, but I don't (yet) have enough airmiles to ship the car back :)

All the 'boys' claiming big bhp, 'great' turbo's etc etc etc should mean that the list is full from day 1 and only wait list is available.

What I would give to attend!!!

GREEN SCOOBY 18 August 2003 10:27 PM

mmmmmmmm. might join you lot how many spaces are left and what is the dead line so i can think about this?

scottste 18 August 2003 10:47 PM

Hi
As you can see I am scooby newbie! This event sounds like good fun and I'd like to come along. I pick up my Scooby from the garage on Wednesday to replace my veccy. So I'm a complete novice at this, dont get me wrong looking forward to meeting you all on the track.
So I'm up for it !

P20SPD 19 August 2003 08:13 AM

AFAIK there is no limits on numbers, yet, so get your name down if you want to come along.

Remember use the email on the page in the link on my first post.

Micky - I doubt they would let you on with an unsafe roll cage
ohh, they let u do these runs without a helmet do they? :D
might run after all, at least my permed blonde hair wont get messed up by the helmet ;)

Attu 19 August 2003 02:45 PM

£70 isnt bad for an all day event with as many runs as you want.

Andy

David_Wallis 19 August 2003 03:04 PM

FFS.. if you want it southern then organise it yourselves.. bearing in mind people came to totb from scotland and london m25etc..

so I dont think its too bad..

David
30miles away or so.

spyr0 19 August 2003 03:04 PM

wont embarass myself infront of the kids in my standard my02 so.....

StickyMicky 19 August 2003 03:21 PM

imo £70 is to much, when i was informed yesterday that the qualifying for totb2 was £40 and that also included the handleing course

if this is true, then i can understand that on the day, putting the price upto £70 for the event, isnt that bad etc etc, becuase there was a lot of extras that had to be payed for like camera crews and stuff?

Open pit lane track day @ croft was only £85 not so long back, and thats a proper race track?
