Some of you may or may not remember me but JUne last year I bought an Stiv7 which was a ltd edition from a UK dealer. The spec is something special and when I posted it on the board all HELL broke loose I was a liar, a child and idiot and all sorts in between............well I kept lookin on scoobynet for informative reasons but havent participated much until now.......

ive just got a gtech pro from the states which does 0-60 quater miles bhp torque etc etc with some amazing results......

0 - 60 4.34 seconds

0 - 100 9.93 seconds

quater mile best time 12.435 @ 117 mph

267 bhp @ wheels

257 lbft @ wheels

these are best figures to date and are logged via the system, ive tested in on 5 different cars now and boy it works well. Also gives figures real world NOT on a dyno.

OK unbelievers you ca take the p@ss now im ready.....hehehehhehe

I hope john felstead and especially chiark (he was on my side) see this..............

The figures can vary quite a bit depending on weather road conditions and driving style I usually do 2 runs 1 for timing and the other for performance it seems the figures my car is producing is very close to the flywheel figures of the uk car BUT at the wheels. The gtech unit is excellant if anyone else has used on id like comments please.

interesting............... id like comments if at all poss please....i presume torque + bhp are worked out by using the weight of the car distance speed etc

although i dont know the exact equation does anyone ?????

Look here:
http://www.sdlracing.com/Headliners/GTechDebateResolved.htm

Sounds to me like the Gtech is not that accurate with it's performance figures, especially for the 1/4 mile. Dont trust to it too much.

To quote from the website:

"So for all those GTech'ers that swear by the GTech, realize that those numbers are not real world and be careful not to put your wallet out to back it up. You're living in a fantasy world and the real world will eat your sh**. Wake up and take your car to the track!"

jhdee - i guess the oh dear was aimed at me???

or the gtech?? or both?? lol have u used the gtech

ive used mine extensively and figures seem pretty accurate,

when doing timed runs i have no roll out ie when the car starts to move the timing begins, if u have 12inch of roll out the car will be travelling a couple of mph before timing begins!

therefore I find this method better, im not bothered about reaction times maybe when I go to a track day I will but as a tool I think the gtech pro is very usefull.

lets u see when u should be changing gear better.

tryu and compare the figures then by attending http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=241217

Would be very interesting as the figures you quote are quite impressive IMO
