I'm thinking of having a look at this car as its been on the Autotrader web site and in the publication for a number of weeks now!!! Has anyone been to have a look at this car? I'm slightly concerned as to why they havent sold it straight away as the piccs on their web site are of a nice looking car. A brief spec as follows:

(V) SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO, Oakhill of South Warnborough 40000 miles, Dark Green With Velour Trim, 1 Owner(s), Full Main Agent Service Records, Air-conditioning, Anti-lock Braking System, Central Locking, Electric Mirrors, Electric Windows, Five Speed £10,995.

Has anyone found any nasties on it? Are they asking too much for it? Your thoughts are allways greatly appreciated.

Oh, and nothing nasty about the trader or this thread could get locked. Thanks. If the trader is no good though, a discreet bad smiley face inserted in your text should be ok!?!

That's probably a little too much considering i got a 50k MY00 from a dealer for a little over 11k in January!

The car is about £500 to expencive in my oppinion, try and knock them down and do a good deal with a warenty.

Thanks for the comments. Whats the score on putting the reg number on here to see if the previous owner is on Scoobynet?

dead_neurons 18 August 2003 09:57 AM

im also about to start the purchase process, but i'll be getting some inspections done, so if i come across a dog of a car, whats the legality (and moral duty?) to post the results/number plate if I dont purchase the car? after all. its effectively information in the public domain isn't it?

MODERATORS ???

prodriva 18 August 2003 12:08 PM

So I take it that we can post details of a car for sale by a Trader then??? Surely the powers that be have an official stance on this nowadays??? MODERATORS??? Anyone???

Diablo 18 August 2003 12:13 PM

If its being sold by a trader I don't see a problem posting a numberplate

Presumably you can see it on the Autotrader website anyway?

DIABLO,

Thanks for the response. Yes, the details and number plate can be viewed on the Autotrader web site as well as the Traders own Web Site.

Thanks again.

THE REGISTRATION OF THE CAR IN QUESTION IS V607 FLM. It's dark green in colour with dark anthracite coloured wheels, mileage is 44k as stated on web site. Any info, especially if the previous owner is on here, would be greatly appreciated.

Surely your problem is when the dealer comes on under an assumed name and tells you what a fantastic car it is:( Or another potential buyer tells you what a dog it is:( Caveat emptor.

Cricky, if you want one my friends Mica Blue on is for sale:

00W , 30k miles, FMillLaneSH, excellent condition!! give him a call on 07768 452926.

The car is currently under offer but its not really enough!! The car is up for a reasonable £11,750 but I know he would take £11,250

This I know you will appreciate is far better value, than the one at Oakhill. (1 reg plate newer + almost half the mileage)

Mark (the owner) lives in Chineham Basingstoke, so if you looking at South Warnborough then its just down the road!!

I'd advise you give him a call :)

Good luck whatever you decide ;)

'spose your right speedking :( Then again the dealer is not a specialist in Scoobies so fingers crossed he/they dont know about SCOOBYNET. Just trying to gather as much info at this early stage. Next is to go see the car get the previous owners details and try to contact them.

Honest opinion?

I wouldnt buy a pen. let alone a car from Oakhill

They have probably THE worst reputation in the whole area for selling shafted messes that have been badly repaired :(

They used to have a site in Fleet, Hants selling Calibra's, but were shut down from there.

Im amazed this company is still trading.

This isnt personal experience, but I have seen the results of some of thier cars in the local vauxhall dealership I used to work in.

Be very very very very very very carefull of them!

prodriva 18 August 2003 01:27 PM

Cheers C, wouldnt have had a clue about this if it wasnt for you and SCOOBYNET.

Thanks again C.

I had a look at a Honda S2000 down there a few weeks ago and the car was a complete mess, you could see that the previous owner had reversed into something and then the bumper had been re-sprayed but instead of doing it properly and taking off the number plate surround they had left it on and the paint was already starting to peel off
This is not a dig just at Oakhill as I expect there are many other dealers out there doing the same thing.
Just make sure you get the car fully inspected before parting with the cash! ;)

C 18 August 2003 01:37 PM

No problem :)

I think, judging by the amount of cars we had in with HUGE repair bills (well into 4 figures sometimes) its only right people know.
