I am thinking of trading my Type R for a UK300. I am looking for a cheaper to run more family(4 doors) orientated car. Has anyone driven one or owned who knows how they perform. I've recently driven a 03 STI and was not impressed.

From experience, after your type R, you may be dissapointed with the MY01 cars onwards.

If I were you and were looking for a cheaper/more practical car, I'd go for a last of the line classics. A 4 door on a Y plate (I believe there are a couple on a 51 plate?)

IMHO of course.

Agree wholeheartedly with Talizman. If you're used to a classic Type R and were disappointed by the MY03 STi, you're going to be even more disappointed in the UK300, as it's worse than the MY03 in pretty much every way!

A late classic is almost certainly your best option. Beyond that maybe a japanese spec '03 WRX.

Thanks for the reply, it seems that the classic's are the way to go. Perhaps an RA. T he only new one seems to be the Type C.
