i'm looking for a calliper paint, and was gonna get the hammerite paint, checked HALFORDS, AND B&Q and all they got was
straight to RUST!!

Local Halfords sells both Hammerite and an alternative 'caliper paint'.

any brands?
they either got foliotech (£20)
or hammerite straight to rust

I used normal smooth hammerite on mine and it seems to have stayed on pretty well.
Just make sure you clean the calipers first with brake/carb cleaner.

i did mine with hammerite smooth, all black with white SUBARU lettering and it's stayed on fine - that was about a year ago. At £5 per tin that's half the price of the 'real' stuff

What temperature range does the regular hammerite survive? I wouldn't be happy having my caliper catch fire after some serious use of the brakes... it's the pads that should catch fire!

Well i had hammerite on my calipers for 2 years, that was the only thing that stayed in tact on the MY99 setup for brakes throughout that period, that includes 4 sets of pads and 3 setrs of discs.

The discs had to be changed due to warpage and cracking from heat!!!

IMO Hammerite smooth does the job well, so long as you prep the surface well.

ps Hammerite smooth has also stood upto the heat of my headers too (used to seal the exhaust wrap) much to the amazement of some!
