hey- i checked out :
http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html
and according to my transmission code, i have a 94 STI first version.

the car came with the aluminum control arms, stock

if it is a STI, does the engine contain forged pistons?

Aluminum control arms came on many non-STi WRX's.
