Ok, I have WRX brakes on a UK Legacy Turbo. They stop just fine (for now) however I am looking to improve the "pedal feel".

Having driven french and german cars, as soon as your foot touches the pedal, the brakes can be felt to be acting immediately. With the scoob (I have noticed this on imprezas too, but not as serious) there seems to be 10degrees of travel in the pedal before any kind of braking even begins.

Is this a problem with the firewall flexing, brakelines bulging, fluid compressing or is the brake servo somehow reacting too slowly?

Advice much appreciated.

I think it's just the flop in the pedal mechanism, it's certainly not the bulkhead flexing, that would only happen when full pressure is reached, the pedal can be adjusted, or you may have air in the system

i'm sure that you can buy a bracket for the bulkhead to firm up the pedal, also braided hoses should help.

its a symptom of fitting larger 4pot calipers to a car that was designed for 2pots.....more fluid to move to get the pads to move the same distance, therefore a slightly spongy pedal (obviously if everything else is in correct working order).........you may improve this with "goodridge" style hoses, but you will only get rid of it completely by installing a later impreza master cylinder..........
