I just learned that the back straight (currently named Daewoo) is to be renamed in memory of Steve Hislop for next season. A fitting tribute to a great ambasador for motorcyle racing.

always thought it was the railway straight, but thats a great tribute and a good idea. think it was either snetterton or oulton park they renamed a chicane in his memory.

That would be Hizzy's chicane at Oulton.

Is Hislop Straight to be the short one after the chicane, or the longer one after Clark's, I think that is currently Railway.

The one after the chicane would be apt, I saw Hissy come off big style on that straight !

Ironic that KH should name a section of track after him when he said many times he didn't like the circuit. Still good that they have done it though.

The short one after the chicane is called Brabhams. The long back straight after clarkes curve on the way down to Taylors (the haipin) is the one I refer to. If you log on to the Knockhill web site, there's a curcuit map you can look at. I was given this info by a Knockhill instructor yesterday when I took a "Legend" out on track.

The straight used to be called railway but with sponsorship etc it became Daewoo I believe.

Everyone I know still refered to it as railway. Although Hislop is more fitting now.
