Hi TFyus,

The original post still had the location in it. I could have edited this myself, but thought deleting the whole thread would have been better. The owner of the car requested it as well. It was getting a bit out of hand.

I know is was not malicious on your part, so no worries.

Cheers

I'd strongly agree with the vigilante bit. Some people tend to just post rants about drivers that have cut them up IMHO. What's the point in that?

I have deleted a thread today on the request of an owner who's details were posted here. They quite rightly did not want their location and registration number shown on the BBS. Whatever people may say about the omission of reg numbers and whether is makes any difference if you post them or not, the fact remains that this is against the rules of this forum and therefore should not be shown. You may not be bothered whether your full number is shown and where you are parked, but the person you are posting about may well be!!

Here are the rules again. Please can you ensure they are followed.

No posting of full registration numbers as this can be an invasion of privacy and could cause upsets. Also it may end up being a risk to the 'spotted' driver.

You can post pictures too but again, no numbers to be shown.

No posting of locations where cars are parked on a regular basis. E.G. Cars parked during the day in railway car parks, work places etc. I'm sure no one want's the whereabouts of their unattended pride and joy published for all to see.

Don't post more information about a cars identity then you would want to see about your own.

Finally. this is meant to be a friendly place where you can talk to the owners of cars you have spotted and maybe set up a local meet. It is not for conducting a witch hunt or vigilante movement against drives.

Thanks

Naive mistake. Sorry b'out that. I thought i had edited out all the location factor out of the posts. Never thought about the sinister factor of the net and the fact unwanted eyes might have seen the location, i deleted the location within ten minutes of posting it.

Ill mail simon in a sec direct.

WOops! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

as i mentioned in the thread i would have deleted it straight away after the sinister factor was brought to my attention but scoobynet doesnt allow topic starters to delete the threads.

cheers

Yeh right,

You mean you wanted to delete it after you'd

1) Slagged me off for no reason other than i pointed out the problem and went on to say i had my head up my own botty!!!
2) Tried to come up with some feeble excuse about why it was ok to post reg and parking details.
3) Got flack from several members about it so then decided to make out your saint

Hmmmmmm....

No problem guys, not damage done.

Just did not want some wa*ker trying to nick
my pride and joy, and also wanted to keep
my employer out of the post, just too much info etc.

Nimbus thanks.

Original poster - lets go for a beer.
