Have been quoted by my local dealer £130 to fit a Prodrive quickshift I have already purchased.

Does this seem a little steep to anybody? If it does, can anyone recommend another garage?

Thanks

Mark

I'll do it for you :D

£50?

Did mine on PTMW! & it wasn't too hard.

(& I did it properly with circlip pliers as opposed to grease up & shove :p )

Cambs/Suffolk borders or work in P'boro

Puff

I will pay you to do it, as long as you guarantee me that if anything goes wrong, all costs will be covered by you?

Just being cautious, as not too sure what involved in the job.

Thanks

If its that easy (its the full mechanism I have) can somebody do a step by step guide to fitting the thing?

Thanks

Mark

Taliz

Half tongue in cheek m8 but a lot of people just pull out the old one & force the new one in with the ecky thump method of mechanics...

Boarder1

You should be able to do it yourself. What is the MY of your car? If its pre-bug eye then there is a guide somewhere on the internet (help someone?) to doing it. It "shouldn't" be much different to that if its newer.

Anyone got a copy of a GGR instruction leaflet they can scan & post or email? That is sufficent to do the job - worked for me anyway.

If you want it doing, then I'll be quite happy to do it or if you want a hand, then get in touch & you can come over & I'll help.

Puff

Mine is a my98, if someone did have the instruction it would help me out. I can do a few mechnical jobs, so might give this a try!

Thanks for the offer of help, I will definitly keep you in mind.

Thanks

Mark

£50?? This place is full of robbers!!!!!

I just fitted my prodrive quickshift last month myself, and I am not a mechanic.

Prodrive charge 1 hrs labour (I am lead to believe) for fitting.

Its 3 blooming bolts for god's sake. How can anyone justify charge £130???????

Puff, are you in the motor trade business and are you a mechanic?

Edited to say....

grease up & shove
Puff, are you referring to a quickshift lever swap?

The prodrive kit is the full mechanism

There is no requirement for "greasing and shoving"???

Its a straight swap for the full mechanism.
