This has been done to death i know, but-

I cant decide which bloody size to go for!
Is there much detterioration in the handling if i go for 18s rather than 17s???
I know that the ride will suffer a tad, ie, harder obviously.
Ive also heard on these pages that 18s can effect/sap power slightly:confused:
Lastly, would either size clear 4 pot APs, 330mm discs, using 48mm offset? 99% sure they do.

Any experiances and opinions would be helpfull:D
Car is V5 Type R.

Both the 7x17 and 7.5x18 GT1's will fit the car and clear the AP brakes mentioned.
As the 7.5x18 GT1 is an "optimised" version of the wheel, made expressly for the Impreza, it is actually lighter than the 17" version, weighing in at 9.5Kg ! Probably can't say the same thing for the tyres though, so you might need to do a bit of work to calculate overall increased weight.

Thanks for the info Dave,:D
Interesting about the weights too!

Anyone else like to add?

Speedline use their flow forming on the weight - hence the lightness, in terms of handling - on my Evo7, I didn't notice a thing in terms of harshness of ride and they felt slightly more comfortable than the standard 17's behing the wheel as well.

They're not a wheel that looks big in any size, my 18's in white always looked smaller than my mate's 18" wheels.

Clearance wise you'll never be disappointed (anything will fit under these things - I had AP 6-pots with 362mm discs sitting more than happily under them). Now I've got the Turini's and although they're not on the car, to pick up they're very light and look great.
