Hello all ...

As the BBS has now grown quite large we are looking at burning a run of CDs. We have found some software that acts as minibrowser and will run directly from the CD.

Would you be interested in purchasing this if it was made available?

What would you consider as a reasonable cost?

Webmaster

PeteT 02 May 2000 07:55 PM

sounds like a great idea, under a tenner? (who called me a cheapskate?)

sickboy 02 May 2000 08:34 PM

Alternatively just webSnake the site.

How many Mb's are we talking here? (yes I know the average CD is 650Mb thankyou)

The joys of a freephone ISP.

DaveW 02 May 2000 09:14 PM

Sounds good to me.

I think PeteT is right, around a tenner is about the right price.

Mike Tuckwood 02 May 2000 11:14 PM

I'd buy for a tenner.

Nightmare 03 May 2000 11:52 AM

sounds good - though tenner is quite cheap considering the content you will be getting...it includes words of wisdoms from some of the greats (um...well....) - okay - tenner it is!

Rum* 03 May 2000 10:26 PM

Count me in....tenners good.....will you take 10 post dated rubber chq's???....

Neil Smalley 03 May 2000 11:05 PM

10 quid sounds like a bargain. But is that enough to make it worthwhile for it to happen? Webmaster, What figure were you thinking of?

Hey scoobynet E-bay..

swa 04 May 2000 01:59 AM

Why not do 2 per year, maybe by subscription so you can offer a discount if you pay in advance for a years (or even 2) worth in advance.

Anyway count me in.

Need to look at the replication costs ... The problem, as always, is that people say they want it, you spend the money to have them cut, and then they dont want them.

Potentially I may work it on people send us a cheque, once we get say 50 cheques Ill have the CDs burnt. If not, then the cheques will be returned.

Doc 04 May 2000 09:56 PM

I'm in. Especially as I e-mailed you with this idea a while ago http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif I'm sure you had already thought of it though.

Rum* 04 May 2000 10:25 PM

Yup,

Count me in...I'll send you a cheque - drop me a line when you know how much you're planning on charging....

Cheers

To Webmaster if you are looking for design/cd replication/packaging, check out

barksie 04 May 2000 10:37 PM

Hi
can I just ask whether using a web page grabber such as nearsite or discopump would
suffice or are there advantages to using a CD instead.

Mark Underwood 07 May 2000 12:13 PM

Count me in...I'll have one. Sounds good to me.

Steve Perriam 07 May 2000 01:51 PM
