Can your employer force you to cover two people's jobs?

Later this week my manager is off and they want me to cover my job and his.Even if it could be done easily,can they force you to do it?.btw,when its busy..its very busy!!!!

(office/sap type job)

Its not really mentioned in my contract,its a bit of a grey area tbh.

In the west country,not sure of the exact adress............yet:D...

On the work issue,i raised it with my boss today,have agreed on a suitable fee,but still not happy.
Anyone else been in this situation?

if your doing the work of 2 people ask him for 2 peoples pay :) see what they say.

They have offered me 4 hours extra.

If you doing two peoples work- then you should get two peoples pay.

Well, at least you will be getting some kind of extra pay......Peter doesn`t get any extras, just the occasional Argos voucher:rolleyes:
