Anyone suggest a suitable clutch unit?...My95 jap import rated at 260bhp. I`m looking for something suitable for normal driving conditions but not a unit so soft it will slip or burn out in 5 mins. Any info on prices/sources much appreciated :)

check out deamon tweeks web site, they do a fast road clutch, only slightly harsher, bout 500 quid though!!

I've heard good things about a clutch called Borg & Beck is it?

you can get the b&b clutch for about 80-90 quid too. use search there is a thread on here somewhere about it even ok with uprated power.

borg and beck ok for std power dont know how much extra they will take good price though same as OE

AP organic or Helix organic are both very good but expensive. The Borg and Beck I understand is good value but would not last as long as the other two.

If it helps I had a Borg and Beck in my first scooby..standard car - lasted 3 months of normal driving - IMHO avoid

Uprated AP organic or STi are the ones to go for IMHO.
I`d recomend you don`t go as far as the paddle jobs though.
Had a 3 pad paddle clutch in mine for 10 months during which I destroyed 2 gearboxes through shock loading during standing starts etc :( (suppose it may have been ok under std driving).
Had an STi on the scoob for over a year now n it`s still ok ;) even with decent uprated power.

Thanks guys :)..all been very helpful....discovering the "search" button at the top of the page was also good..Doh!!
Might try and get an sti unit if it fits or an uprated organic of some description...once again taaa :)

Wayne,

No probs in fitting an STi unit to a WRX m8 ;)
The main thing thats different is the price and the lifespan of it.
