True muppets

NACRO 29 July 2003 03:50 PM

They have already lost the argument by starting such a thread.
Shame I can't say anything bad about perfomance fords as I really like them, in the same way any true car enthusiast loves any performance car, Subarus included.
Still I guess they must just like to stir up trouble, I think they need to try harder next time!

greasemonkey 29 July 2003 04:18 PM

I thought the words "passion" and "Ford" were mutually exclusive?

If nothing else, the Mark III Escort owner deserves a pat on the back for calling Subarus common. Obviously a finely developed sense of ironic humour there.

He is being ironic, right?

Da Booga 29 July 2003 04:23 PM

It's a MKIV Escort :p

Can't be many of 'em left now, especially in decent nick like that one looks :D

steve_nairn_sti 29 July 2003 04:28 PM

Oh dear, what a sad board.

scoobydevil1 29 July 2003 04:29 PM

only good thing about "fast "fords is there are loads in scrap yards so you are never short of bits.
my rs2000 must be one of the worse car i have had.

2.8i capri was ok after you loaded a big of cement into the boot.

come on guys...
they're only having a laugh. :)

greasemonkey 29 July 2003 04:33 PM

So are we ;)

kentscooby2 29 July 2003 04:42 PM

but as PassionFord was only the 3rd forum I had visited (SIDC of course) - interesting to note the stylistic differences:

- scoobynet much more aestheticlly pleasing!(I work for a design co so these things do matter!)

- Fordie spelling atrocious!

Not completely anti the Blue Oval as have owned a few as Company Motors in the past (Fiesta Turbo (argh!!), Mondeos x 2, Maverick)
but not really in same league as Scoobies in terms of quality and holding value.

Tony1 29 July 2003 04:55 PM

Just thought I'd let you all know............
I had a 2.0 litre Capri once.
Not kidding you, she had 235's on the back, with full blown stage 3 semi race conversion, with twin 38 DCOE Webers!!! At the time, 2.8 injections couldn't even come close, and it scared me HSITLESS!!!
But - boy oh boy - what a rush in a straight line!!!!!
Corners made you seek physcological help. My friend had a Lotus Elite 503 - and I blew all over that from standstill.
Just a shame that the only thing you could do at bends was BRRRRAAAAAAAKKKKKEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mista weava 29 July 2003 05:01 PM

i have posted a reply to their ramblings if anyone is interested in following this thread.

Can't go too far down that road, there are some here who can't even spell their own usernames... ;)

Well written reply on their board Weava, will be interesting to see what's made of it :)

Jen 29 July 2003 06:17 PM

...er...it's only a joke isn't it?! :)

lol - the lads I've met from there have been nice guys :D

SiDHEaD 29 July 2003 06:30 PM

LOL @ "EscortRS"'s comments, judging by his avatar he has a bloody scooby scoopy on his 80s memorabilia, that's how crap scoobies are..

Also does that number plate read "tacky", can't quite tell with my failing eyes - what with being over 70 and all!

Andy

Guys

We all love cars, ford have produced some serious crackers, and they have certainly proved to be able to (in general) cope with a lot more horses than we can put through our scoobs...

The scoob is a stunning car as well, and any joking around they will be doing is simply "pub banter" that you would have with your mates.

I'm sure we're not all precious enough that we can't laugh at ourselves, and even our cars once in a while? :D

Cheers

Simon

pugoetru 29 July 2003 06:55 PM

I have a mk3 escort cab and a MY92 legacy turbo wagon and the wagon is far superior to the ford but they are very different cars those guys are just sad gits!

C 29 July 2003 07:01 PM
