Ok,

Absolutely bored of current job and the way life is at the moment, so whilst sitting on the throne (all my best thinking seems to be done there :D) I came up with the idea for a dedicated holiday destination in the sun for gamers, complete with old skool arcade machines, Xbox, GC and PS2 arena, 10-15 seat PC LAN set up and wireless connections for internet throughout.
Accomodation provided and all facilities would be free apart from booze.
No outsiders would have access to the site other than paying guests.
Not decided on the location (whether in a secluded area away from the buzz or near a city centre for nightlife but I'm guessing secluded) but definitely in the sun somewhere (Europe ?)
For extra, depending on the final location, could do a bus pickup from airport or even a pickup in UK to the location. Bus would be complete with headrest screens and PS2/XBox set up for gaming pleasure on the way down.

Would anyone here actually pay for this kind of holiday ?
Dunno, but opinions welcome.

This idea is copyright ya goons, so no stealing ;)

Just do it in Brum, or MK. Gamers won't deal with the bright light the sun offers, so will stay inside anyway! :D lol :D

Tis a good idea though, personally think that St Lucia would be a good location fo it ;) :D

Similar to my lottery dream business plan that some cnut is currently realising, tw@t.
I planned to buy a large area of Spanish farmland, decommission it to get Łnuff/acre from the EU in subsidies (sp?) and build a kick-ass circuit with luxury villas for petrolheads to come on holiday and thrash a selection of top drivers cars for a fortnight. Now someone else has just bought the 2 Arrows 3seater F1 cars to use at exactly the same set-up.
Ho-hum.
The other guy's right, gamers have trouble leaving their bedrooms, let alone the house or even the country.

Who would the market be. Would assume the majority of gamers are younger and would not be able to afford this type of thing, The ones who could, have their own equip and don't see it as the main thing in life anymore. Trouble is we go on holiday for something different usually (eg sun for me as I live in Fort William:D)

Not trying to pour cold water on it as the theory is good - look at Trekkie conventions, but would need to be targeted to a large enough market segment. Worth looking at more though.

It's called Disneyquest and it's in Florida.

$35 to get in, per person, per day, and it's full to capacity 7 days a week.

Go for it, mate. You need a hand then mail me offlist...

Gamers, I believe, are typically twentysomething males with lots of disposable cash. Most of them would probably rather holiday in Ibiza, but I'm sure there must be a market for that kind of thing.
