Have a few boxes I want to run but control through VNC (installed and working fine ;) ) but if I remove the keyboard they just won't start [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

They are quite old (P60, P150 and P166 MMX) and have plenty of keyboards...So, if I boot them with keyboard and without a mouse, I get window popping up saying "do you wish to continue without mouse - to not see this error message, tick box"

How the hell do you tick the box without the mouse?! (ie with keyboard)

If I boot with mouse plugged in then I don't get this pop up box...how do I configure PC so when I pull mouse out and then reboot it don't fall over again :rolleyes:

you need to disable all the 'halt on' sections in bios.

my old PII firewall also required a keyboard dongle (old style fat connector, not ps2) to be plugged in.

Have seen keyboard dongles but they are more expensive than most keyboards! :eek:

I do the very same thing here @ work. I've a bank of about 10 pc's with no mouse/keyboard/monitor and control them all via VNC. They are Dells and I've had to disable any error reports in the BIOS. They run NT which complains about the mouse on startup, but I have full mouse/keyboard support from any remote machine.

It does work, you just need to disable the relevant settings in the BIOS.

Bad news is my BIOS is so old I can't disable mouse/keyboard from it :(

Good news is that to tick a tickbox without a mouse, simply tab to it and press the space bar :D
