guys, i'm thinkin of converting from an audi a3 1.8t to a scooby, was wondering what are the difference in models between 1997, 1998, 1999? there seem to be a facelift somewhere but i've seen in the for sale section that some MY98 looks like the MY99, maybe because of the front three piece spoiler, or i might be wrong. anyone can clear all this out for me so that i know what i'm looking at.

what sort of money do i have to spend to get between a MY98 and a MY99?

Is there a power difference or difference in driveability or even in the interior between these models or is it just an exterior thing?

Thanks for all the help in advance..

Big bonus with the MY99 models is 4 pots as standard.
From MY98 the interior was better, and it had white dials.

I went from an Audi A3 1.8T to my first Scooby in 1999. Got myself a T reg one in Dark Blue Mica. The change happened in S Reg, you'll want the facelift as so many things were better.

The difference however is amazing, I'll never forget getting out of one and into the other that day! Had a 3hr lunch break by mistake as I kept driving and driving (but you'll notice the fuel consumption takes a hell of a downward plummet after the Audi).

check out Robbo's 1999 year model in the forsale section - £10,800 for a stunning example :)
