Ok first post so be VERY kind. A bit of background first, I'm looking for a second car, I own a 323 beemer at the moment (I know i know don't go on) and am looking for a car for max pleasure in the driving department. The car will only be used at weekends and track days.

A mate suggested trying a P1, oooooh i fell in love with the little rocket. My qusetion here is should I get a P1 or would you lot suggest something else ?

Caterham
Westy
Lotus
Porsche's

The P1 is a great road car, but I don't think a P1 would be special enough for just weekends, and there are loads of cars better suited to track work. If you do get a P1 make sure you get one with some brakes.

For the same money you could get a 968 CS (buy some r rated tyres with the change)and be faster than the majority of Impreza's on track - though you may have to look hard, the newer breed of Impreza drivers are not interested in track days, they prefer a cruise in Southend.

ID - the doctor has spoken............

Weekend car I suggest Elise or Vx220, Personally would'nt buy a scoob as a weekend car unless it was a 22b and your looking way over 20k.

Most of these little kit cars are okay as long as you are 5ft 6 and 7 stone :D. Last time I was 7 stone I was still at primary school :D.

If it just for trackdays they yep get a track day car as the comsumables and running costs are cheaper. I have a few mates who run classics as insurnace is really cheap and I mean cheap. An old 944 or 968 would make a good weekend car and not cost you a fortune.
