"This error indicates that you either do not have a sound card or it is functioning incorrectly. If you do not have a sound card, you must install one to play this file. If you do have a sound card, refer to its documentation to troubleshoot the problem".

System shows no problems and I've deleted and re-installed all the drivers for the "sounds and game controllers" tab.

Still nothing :(

check the sound card is seated properly on the motherboard. check every single thing in device manager to make sure there's no conflict.

one slight problem...
There is no sound card, It's on board A7V-VM.
It's got me well confused.

Everything started to go wrong when I made the dektop a network pc to connect to the laptop, first managing to "lose" the dial up adapter, I'm now having to dial up through the lappy
then the sound packed up!

I think somethings FUBAR

are you using the proper sound driver from asus for your motherboard? check the BIOS if your sound is enable and also do a find hardware in control panel.

done both ideas already, it installs all the proper drivers and shows no errors... it's got me.

Lol at another thing going on, typing away on the laptop with the desktop running.. doing nothing next to me, the buzzer starts screeching then a pop up box saying "run time error"
then another "out of memory".
I never touched the thing ???
Not to worry it'll have it's heart ripped out next week.
(see new built thread)
