How the Hell does one access the BIOS with a USB keyboard !
The drivers for the USB devices don't install until after the boot screen! so I have not got a hope in hells chance of pressing the F1 key in time....

ha... that's a good one! never thought about that before!!!

actually, it "should" recognise the USB device as it will come under "usb-legacy" device which in theory dont need any drivers to be install to use it.

mine works fine and dandy on both this and my shuttle, logitech and trust usb jobbies, you can get ps2 usb convertors though if that'll help.

Si
Ps i think there's a bit in bios for usb keyboards now a days (obviously you'll need a standard ps2 to start with)

Only trouble is it's a USB MOUSE to PS2.

as it don't work ! :(

There is a setting in most BIOS' for this, I found that I needed to do this also when running Norton Ghost (DOS based Cloning Program), on my P4C800 its definately got it anyway, of course I needed to plug back in my PS/2 keyboard in order to switch it on!!!

It gets better,
cracked open the case to find the MO board type.
ASUS A7-VM
looked on the asus website for updates...and no listing for that MOBO :(
oh well.

sounds like either an A7M - Ali chipset I believe or an A7V - via KT266/300 based board. think that one has CMI 8373 chipset

Fuzz 27 July 2003 01:19 PM

any way to tell ?
It's running an athlon 1.1ghz @133mhz
