Here's the story, bought my 97 UK wagon around a month or two ago...never had a scooby before or driven one so it felt quick to me. Took it down to Jap Innov to get Knock Link & Lambda fitted and was told that it was running low on boost around 7PSI. After a quick investigation Dave found the problem, the pipe from the turbo to the T piece was not the origional pipe and was missing the restrictor. Finally sourced a pipe with restrictor in it from Grade A Subaru breakers in New Mills and put it on 30mins ago. the results.........bloody quick!
My other mods include full de cat hks exhaust, Blitz induction and Baileys D/V. I am peaking at 15PSI which then immeditally drops down to around 14-14.5PSI...does this seem ok? KnockLink is fine and Lamda is lighting up on 9 (last green light), the richest. Ray |
How you dion K9any, glad you got the motor sorted.
15psi is not standard ecu settings i don't think. I've got a scoobyecu upgrade and mine peaks at 16psi, whereas it was at 12psi before. I've got a 96 saloon so mine has a bigger turbo than yours, which runs less boost as standard, so i'm not 100% sure on yours. I'm sure someone else will know exact figures though. |
I thought they run 0.9 bar about 13psi in standard form but maybe wrong. The full decat may explain why the boost is a bit higher.

Yeah just checked up standard on my97 is 0.9bar.....I reckon the de-cat exhaust is allowing it to run a bit higher at 1.0bar which is 14.5psi....should be ok i think.

1 bar is ok. used to run 1.2 bar on my 93wrx. mods were only a FCD, induction and full system. no problems whatsoever.
now, 1.3bar on type R. welcome to the scooby addiction.... |
