will a VF35 go straight on in place of my TD04?

any extra mods required?

i currently have full decat / induction / TEK2 remap (284bhp)

Yes. I would say you should replace the fuel pump/regulator, replace the intercooler pipework, and get the ECU custom mapped to suit. You should also have a knocklink and boost gauge.

It is a nice turbo that gives very little lag and early spool up. Top end power is not bad, being as this has the smallest exhaust housing of all the VFs. But it is a very nice upgrade over a TD04.

I mapped Davidīs car, I like the VF35! I like it over the VF23 which I fitted quite a lot in the past, spool up is a bit better and it is able to produce a little more top-end power. It has a smaller exhaust housing, but I think it suits the compressor very well on a 2 liter engine. Not very big EBP as we could easily achieve 1.2 bar @ 6.000 with very decent wastegate dutyīs. (and 1.1 @ 7.000)

The VF35 seems not to suffer from boost creep as in the STi if itīs fitted on the non STi Impreza Turbo. This turbo we ported the wastegate, but next time we will try without.

P.S. 1 bar @ 2950 RPM and 1.3 bar @ 3250 RPM in 4th gear. And very responsive after 3500 RPM. In my opinion much better than a TD05! (However, it doesnīt have the top-end ability from a TD05)

Mark.

I must say Mark's mapping is excellent on the VF35.
I'm very pleased whith the spool up time, it's very close to the TD04.
I also must say that a great deal of the driveabillity come's also from the Apexi AVC-r
Anyway, the moment i get in my car today it feels like the first time i've ever stepped into an Impreza, very impressive :)

Peccy

where are you looking to get your VF35 turbo from and who are you going to get to do all the fitting

I am thinking along the same lines as you for my scoob

John gave me the same advice but my knowledge on suppliers is not so good

Cheers

Simon
