I am having problems inserting jpeg images into word. Basically the images once pasted and saved into the Word document are appearing to add bitmap like size to the document. Have tried MS Photo Editor and MS Paint to save the jpg's but to no avail.

I recall I have had this problem before and used photoshop to create the jpgs. Unfortunately we do not have a copy of this at work.

Is there any way around this and can anyone recommend a free jpg program that can create jpgs that do not explode in size when inserted into a word document? Thanks in advance.

have you tried photo editor that comes with MS office? it doesnt usually automatically install itself but you should be able to find it on the disc.

have a look for some freeware on tucows.com

Lightening

I have had this problem - put ~ 1 Mb of jpgs into a Word document and the file size balooned to ~ 10 Mb.

After much searching eventually found that if you do 'Insert', 'Picture', 'From File' for each picture required the file size is what you expect.
- If you cut and paste into Word the flie size goes HUGE!!!

Hope it works for you....

I always find it easier to fill and empty box - you seem to be able to resize and move around better.
