X over cable [Edited by phil_stephens - 7/22/2003 8:05:25 PM] |
with a cross over cable, you can connect up two PCs with NIC (network card) to copy data/files across. cross over cable look just like any network cables except the wires are wired differently.
so check that both laptops got network card. drop me an email if you wanna loan a cross over cable ;) p/s still using the sky digibox and the keyboard to change channels :) |
I appreciate that
I will get the Laptop up and running and see what I can do first Phil |
if no NIC (Network Interface Card) then via serial port to serial port or parallel to parallel port with appropriate cable. From memory 98 has file transfer utility if not use something like laplink (PC Pro magazine has free version of laplink on cover cd). Or USB key device, basically solid state memory which acts as a removable hard drive with sizes anything from 16mb upto 1gb (but expensive).

I forgot about those key things I bought a 256k One
