Someone at work said he'd seen something about a newly developed race car (c/w Kawasaki engine) being manufactured in East Kilbride.
It was apparently on BBC Scotland news last night. Anyone know anything about this ? Cheers, N :) |
Dont know what it was but it will be getting developed at the National Engineering Laboratory in east kilbride. They have a fantastic motorsport development site up there including wind tunnels,4 wheel drive rolling roads, dynos, aerodynic set ups.
Got a tour on an open day they had, cant remember the name of the place but if anybody wants it i can take a run up and find their place again. Well worth a visit to see the stuff they have, when we were getting the tour they were actually running in two F1 engines at the time!! |
I didn't see it, but I knew the Coram was to be at Knockhill yesterday with a BBC crew - so I guess that was it. Web site is http://www.coram-automotive.com

Ive been to the Place in East Kilbride too, with the Lanarkshire Car Club.
Cant remeber what their called, but i remeber the logo was a Knight from a chess set. I'll post again if i find out. Edit to say: Its the Kelvin Motorsport Center in East Kilbride. Some good stuff in it. When i was there they were running cylinder head simulations for a motorsport team. [Edited by KungFuMonkey - 7/23/2003 12:47:23 PM] |

Hello!
FYI - it was us on the BBC news a couple of weeks ago. We're in Braidwood, between Lanark and Carluke, not East Kilbride. Don't know how that information was relayed! (address and contact details on our web-site) If anyone would like to come along and say 'hi' please feel free. All we ask is that you give us a call beforehand to make sure we're in! Steve. www.coram-automotive.com P.S. Anyone know the procedure for changing the cam belt on a DOHC Legacy Turbo? ('94 model year) |
Thanks Steve :)
