richie,

Why not just copy the .wab file across?

druddle 21 July 2003 12:42 PM

Clutching at straws, but:

You may need to use the same username on the XP box as the previous machine

Are you logged on to XP as an Administrator?

Is Outlook/Outlook Express open on the new machine whilst trying to run the wizard?

How did you transfer the address book? Via CD-R?

If so, the address book file may be marked as read only on your new PC.

A "Permission Denied" sort of message is a classic Outlook message when it tries to open a read only PST file.

Check the attributes on the file that is now on your new PC (right click the file and select Properties)

Chris.

IT shouldn't make any difference as to who is logged on to the computer etc, anybody should be able to access a .PAB file (one at a time tho)

Do what ChrisB has suggested and check the Attributes on the PAB file make sure it's not read only, also check the permissions on the file!

Make sure you are an Administrator, Outlook plays silly sods if you are not an administrator or have fully access rights in the reg!
