I've just been to the rolling road day at nobles hoping for a good result, but to find out shes running lean. :(

They wouldn't do the power run which was a good thing. :)

I'm just after some advice on what i should be looking for, they seemed to think it could be the maf, but theres no lumpy idle, no hunting revs and the acceleration is smooth through all the gears.

Its a MY99 UK Turbo, full decat, VA dump valve, ITG panel filter, run on optimax and proboost.

What about a knackered Lamda sensor?
Anyone else?
Still a fair bet that it could be MAF though IMO.

Kevin, shame you didn't run but better than meltdown,
The Lambda i believe normally has the opposite effect making them rich, Could be that your fuel pump is Fcuked, DO a pressure test, Info on hrer if you do a search, Otherwise could be the MAF as the Go LEan then Leaner Then Bang, As you said probably best to let TSl Diagnose.

This is what he has to say.



I believe the ecu adjusts the amount of fuel it adds by reading the lambda in the exhaust whilst not on wide open throttle.
Therefore you will not get the lumpy tickover etc until the MAF has gone beyond the amount the ecu can add fuel to compensate for. Therefore it won't be running lean when not on wide open throttle until it gets way outside the expected values from the maf etc.. but on wide open throttle on boost etc is will be running lean.

Have you checked for error codes??

Or reset the ECU lately?

If no codes.. do a reset and you might well see the lumpy tickover etc..
You can get the MAF without the whole housing so becareful not to get stung for the whole this. Sorry cannot remember where to get the part number from..

ITG panel filter may be the cause.
I know APS in OZ do not recommend panel filter (K&N) without remapping (fuel tables).
Also seen so many cars on dyno running lean at top end it wouldnt suprise me.
