I've left my CD copy of this at work. Does anyone know if thais can be downloaded anywhere off the web? I've tried goodle without any joy.

Can some kind soul put it up on a FTP site somewhere, please?

I'm NOT after a license key (I already have one of those) - Just need the actual kit.

Many thanks

M5

Pardon my ignorance, but what is an XP Pro kit?

m5 18 July 2003 01:07 PM

Pro = Professional

Mr Footlong 18 July 2003 01:29 PM

LMAO, he knows that, he wants your explanation of Kit.

ChrisB 18 July 2003 01:39 PM

I'd presume it's a ISO CD image? At 400MB+ it's a little large to FTP...

And so the helpful SN team succeed once again!

Thanks, guys. I'll look elsewhere!

ChrisB 18 July 2003 04:07 PM

Erm, hang on...

So you want:

a) somebody to have time to ZIP up or make a CD image
b) have enough bandwidth to upload it less than two days of FTPing
c) run a public FTP server with enough space for it
d) not incur any bandwidth charges for you to download 400MB or so?

Assuming 15kb second upload on a 512k/256k DSL, that's a 7 hour upload.

Hmmm!

Mate . . . just get it from Kazaa . . . simple.

IWatkins 18 July 2003 04:52 PM

ChrisB

If you look at like that, then I suppose, yes! Given that I did the very thing for a member of another board not two weeks ago (he was after a Win2000 kit, though) I honeztly didn't think it was going to be a problem.

After all, I did ask in the Computer Related forum and SN is well-known for its IT people. I just figured somebody would be able to step in and help me out. I scratch your back and you scratch mine, that type of thing.

Instead, I get childish questions about what do I mean by a kit. For goodness sake, some people need to grow up and get into the real world.

Is it any wonder SN seems to get worse and worse. Once over this used to be a decent place where genuine people would step in to help. Now it just is full of people who think they have a sense of humour.

Replies are not necesary as I'm outta here.

Cheers

M5

Edited to express my thanks to DJ Dunk. Cheers, mate. Will check Kazaa.

M5 you are the one who should grow up, have a beer and chill mate, no need to get on your high horse and start slagging off other SN members.

Apart from the practicalities, you are asking people to do something illegal, ask Microsoft to send it to you and see what they say.
