Ok, I've got an MP3 player in the car and I'm trying to get several albums onto the one disk :) I've used Window Media Player to record the tunes to the hard-drive and so far so good as they are all about 3-5mb each so I'll get lots and lots on :) The problem is they are all 'windows media files' and I'm pretty sure that my player will only read 'mp3' files so how and with what programme do I covert them ready for recording to the one disk?

Use MusicMatch (www.musicmatch.com) to record your CD's. Windows Media Player records in it's own format.

If you can't be bothered to re-record them, search on google for convertors there are several around.

you can buy a mp3 plug in for Windows media player (I paid about £7) and then it can record mp3s.

There are other cheaper/free options but I'm happy using windows media player. Don't like musicmatch interface personally.

I use Nero. It does all the tasks for you that you need. Like you I've just put an MP3 player in the car, and am steadily making CDs with 7 or so albums per disc.

With Nero, you can record from the original CD, straight into MP3 format at say 192bps (is that right?) and it also allows you to set the names of the tracks too, if the player supports it.

Each album is simply a folder off the root, with the MP3s inside it. So you just make up a new compilation on a CD, by dragging and dropping the folders on to the disc. Piece of cake!

I'd recommend using the 192 or higher bit rate, as that matches CD quality.
