The people in question are Modified Motors magazine and they had the airport rented for this event until a bunch of morons from a Bangor Cruise websitebroke in and raced illegally there. They have been trying flat out to convince the council to let them back in and with our sites members help we hope we can make this event happen guys :)

kungfu 20 July 2003 01:14 PM

Well would there be many up for it if it was organised then....

Judging by the antics of last year at millisle etc, and the goings on after various car shows. Demand should be good. BUT would it be possible to 'filter' out some of the assholes ??
I wouldnt mind paying for the event, knowing that a lot of the dicks in their corsas wouldnt be there to bore us to death with 40sec 1/4's
Rather than a pay at the gate entrance fee, a paid in advance system.

If however there was going to be a lot of dicks, and possibly a lot of bikes there, I would not be so interested. Ive been to Santa Pod RWYB in the past, and on open days, it is a waste of money. Too many cars and bikes running so you get very few runs.
There prob wouldnt be the same numbers here, but its still something to consider.

To be a proper drag setup, it would need proper timing. An absolute minimum would be times, and trap speeds, preferably with 60ft, and 1/8th time/speed data also.

Not to worry anyway for now...TOTB2 is almost here :D
