Say someone was snapped doing 90 in a 40.... what they likley to get?

stevem2k 16 July 2003 03:16 PM

licence removed for a while

DrEvil 16 July 2003 03:16 PM

custodial sentence? especially if they look as dodgy as you.

seriously though, I think that classed as dangerous driving.

POC 16 July 2003 03:21 PM

what if the limit has only just been dropped to a 40 (previously NSL) and the cameras have only been there a couple of weeks? They likley to have film in them?

T.C 16 July 2003 03:21 PM

Double the speed limit in most courts = disqualification for varying lengths of time depending on the court area, fine and often an order to take a re-test.

Much depends on the time of day, where it occured, the type of road and what other traffic was about at the time.

Dazza01 16 July 2003 04:33 PM

buy a snooper !

C 16 July 2003 05:31 PM

Id think they would be more likely to have a film in to "prove a point" to start with :(

Sorry to hear if its you

There are ways round these things tho ;)

obvious one is a scoob cant go 90mph in the 1st place without doing No3 :p

you have my msn if you need some help - ive been good @ getting out of them in the past :)

Definately a court summons, and likely a short ban and few hundred quid fine.

A long time ago (when i was young and foolish) i got caught by VASCAR doing 76 in a 40, 3 month ban and £80 fine.

Gooner 17 July 2003 10:51 PM

In 1990 I got caught by VASCAR doing 116 in a 70, Witney by-pass, 28 day ban and £260 fine. Wife drove me around as I was a National Contracts Manager with Thorn EMI at the time. All my customers were great, thought I had got the job in heaven, good looking, tall, slim bird in a mini skirt driving me around, of course I didn,t tell them she was my wife, it would have taken all the fun out of it. Got pissed a lot for the month and got my licence back nice and clean too.

Will make no difference in the slightest, if the road is signed as a 40. Also even if the driver was doing 90 on the road when it was a NSL then that would more than likely be a fixed penalty.

74 in a 30 got 6 month ban lucky to get dangerous driving charge dropped  (poss custodial with that charge)

yea yea, not big, not clever. young and impressionable then!

2-4 week ban, £300-500 fine i reckon.

Depends how good your brief is/what magistrate you get etc, no one can tell for sure!
