Got a HP pavilion but only got 256 meg ram :(

Want to buy a 512meg DIMM.

The manual says it uses DDR-SDRAM.

But what speed? On ebuyer there seems to be different speeds like 1700,2100,2700 etc, what do they mean, what do i need?

Note down the model number of your machine and go to the Crucial Website. The model number will be somewhere on the case. Follow the menus and Crucial will recommend the RAM you need.
