I've been offered some 'nearly new' Mich Sports...with 7mm tread on them.....is 7mm of tread 'nearly new'?.....

I don't know exactly but I'd say 7mm was very nearly new, have a look and check for the bobbly bits on the shoulders:)

New tyres generally have 8mm.

These tyres are incredible in the dry but be very careful of Michelin Sports in the wet :eek:

Now if we were talking about Michelin Sport Cups... :D

As Pete says ~ I've seen new tyres quoted as 8mm - 8.2mm.
