Is it worth getting an XP 2500+ over my 2000+? They seem to have dropped in price to an acceptable level.

What's the Barton core, and what difference does the 333MHz FSB make?

Rik.

The Barton 2500 can run at 200 Mhz FSB with decent cooling and a slight voltage increase no problem, thats 400 Mhz compared to your old chips 266. It also has twice the on chip cache which does make some diff if not as much as AMD would have you believe. The 2500 Barton is also a great overclocker with the right mobo. So I would say very good value for monney.

i would wait
i have a 1700 and can go to a 2400 but it probably isnt worth it
1700 is more than enough for most stuff

i am waiting until autumn winter when amd release their athlon 64

Yer, and I’m waiting till I can afford a Cray, 'NOT', LOL

Why wait when you can have it now, there will always be something better round the corner anyway ;)
