I'm in the middle of re-installing everything onto my laptop following yet another system crash, and getting icreasing flabbergasted at the sheer volume or crap (sorry critical updates) I need to download and install, just to get back to square 1.

As the laptop is my second machine, the thought suddenly occurred to me that this would be an ideal opportunity to try Lindows instead. Now, having never experienced it before (other than a quick tour of the Lindows site) I'm not sure what to expect.

- What are your experiences of Lindows?
- Good Points?
- Bad Points or things to watch out for?
- Interaction/Connectivity with MS networks?
- Availability or applications or compatibility with MS applications?

Any pointers gratefully received.

Thanks

Martin

I havent tried Lindows but you might want to look at knoppix (just do a search), its a full Linux distro that fits on a CD and is bootable so you can have a play with Linux without losing your M$ install.

Just spent 2 hours trying to buy Lindows (from Lindows.com) went to checkout, created a username, asked me to create an address, which I did, click Add Address (only other button was cancel), told me I didn't have any addresses on file, click add new address, entered details, click Add Address, told me I didn't have any addresses on file.................

Gave up!
