on the throttle position switch for a WRX there is an idle switch. I have got to add this into my loom as i am using a STi TPS. now, do i make this an earth when at idle, or a live at idle? and is it 12V live or 5V live??

I can answer one question for you.

The TPS has a 5v power supply to it, as for the others i'm afraid i don't know.

Cheers

The TPS sensor should have 2 connections, 5v, 0v and signal return.

The idle switch uses the TPS 0v and it's own return.

The TPS voltage should be high when at idle I think, the exact details are in the 93-96 diagnostic data
