Just for you Gastro - it still needs a bit of tidying in there...

Very nice mate:) Looks like the pics were taken at a Porsche meet. Having just swapped the Scoob for a Boxster would like to see what the Porshce meets are like. Was it organised through the GB club? Are the people as friendly as at the Scooby meets??

It was at the Devon & Cornwall Region Concourse on Sunday - part of PCGB.

Down here everyone is very friendly and there is none of the snobbery about models I've heard of elsewhere (TVR Club springs to mind) - a 924 is just as welcome as a 996 Turbo.

I think generally PCGB is pretty good - all the 944 guys I've met certainly are.

Thanks Fen.
The interior just needs a swissol condition and it will be like new again :)

Must try and make a meet near you sometime...

Lee,

I spent £1,500 on new cams, tensioners, oil seals etc. just after I got it - not entirely unexpectedly. I then spent £600 replacing the suspension because it was tired and had a knocking strut. The only (very slight) problem has been an intermittent hot-start laziness but I think I cured that by cleaning the throttle butterfly and idle control valve at the weekend. Other than that it has been perfect in 3 months and 11,500 miles - so not scary if you find a decent one. It's doing 27-28mpg as well.

Gastro,

That's the interior after a Gliptone revival (albeit a good two months ago). I have the kit to recolour the cracks in the leather but haven't done it yet.

Overall the car photographs well but it has a couple of car-park dings and quite a few stonechips to bring it down.

I think I'll go to the national meet at Eynsham (sp?) on the 31st Aug - that's near you isn't it?

Wheels make a real difference Fen. Lookin' good :)

RB5#295 16 July 2003 08:09 PM

Cheers Mik - they make a hell of a difference. It drives worse but it looks soooooooo much fatter that they have to stay.

I won't be saying that when the 265/35 18's are worn out...
