Hi all i am gonna change the oil on my wrx,i am gonna use Valvoline Racing oil (is this oil suitable by the way)and add an addative called Grease Lighting.

its alot like slick 50 but it has better anti friction properties because it has more PTFE (Teflon) in it.

some one once told me an Urban Myth that Subaru knows that the flat four configuration of the wrx causes Piston stick so an addative like this is needed.

that might be bull.

but are there any bad side effects to adding this product

Janaid, you asked this question in something like four separate posts in General Technical, and got an answer, so why ask again ?

Just to echo Tweenierob, don't use this stuff in your car, it'll do much more harm than good.

As for the Valvoline, we can't really tell you whether it's good or not, seeing as you haven't told us anything about it other than the name. What weight are you thinking of using, and is this stuff full synth or semi?

Edited to say that your "urban myth", like most such myths, is bull.

Greasemonkey is right. Just use a good semi or fully synthetic oil of the correct viscosity and your car will be safe. Look up the instructions on how to do an oil change properly on a Scoob as well. It is in the technical forum. Remember that turbos can get very hot and some jumped up additive might cause damage to its bearings too.

Les :)
