Hi all,

can anyone advise me of suitable points for jacking and axle standing my my 96 wagon??

i want to get all 2 wheels off at once and would like to use axle stands, the jacking area is split over a metal lip in the sill

if u use stands here i will crush the metal

any ideas

Had the same concerns myself, but a trolley jack doesen't seem to do any damage.

Aha but where do i place the jack??

as per the normal scissor jack, or is there some other structual point i can use, such as the bottom of the sub axle unit to each of the front hubs

If I need to get 2 wheels off, 2 fronts or 2 rear, I jack the car on the rear diff or the plate under the engine mount with a piece of wood on the jack to protect the car. I leave it jacked up but put axle stands under the chassis box sections in case the jack fails. There are corners at front and rear where the suspension mounts bolt on. Best not to risk bending the normal jacking points.

Les :)
