Would there be any need for me to get any gauges - i want them and they look really good but they are expensive and as i havent done anything to my engine would there be any need for me to get them for other than their looks?

Any help or pursuasion to get them or not.

I left my car for 4yrs completely gauge free, but I've been converted and invested in a Knocklink, Boost and an Oil Temp/Pressure gauge.

I did have the Deltadash software to try, but the majority of the information was completely useless to me for every day driving.

Knocklink is good to give you a warning that something isn't quite right when you're ragging the t!ts off the car.

Boost gauge is really there to confirm the car's making enough boost/vacuum, but I guess is only of real benefit if you want to adjust the boost you're running. Everyday, I don't really use it.

Oil Temp/Pressure is really there to let me know the car is warmed-up enough before I drive it hard.

On the other hand, my car survived 100% over the past 4yrs without any gauges :)

I really really want guages in my STI8 as well.

Not sure whether to go block mounted pod or pillar mount.

Do you know where you can buy the whole package from including fitting???

Again i wont have a clue what im looking at but it will make the car individual and cool at night ...haha

Try J-W Racing at http://www.j-w-racing.com . They do custom a-pillar pods for Impreza's ad I think dash mounts as well.

I'm getting an Apexi S-afc for cosmetic purposes only - gonna stare at the nice blue screen and never change any settings!!!

I've just fitted an Oil Temp gauge. Most people start to rag their cars when the water temperature 'stabilizes', but I was pursueded to get the gauge fitted when I saw how much longer the oil takes to warm up in a mates car! Now I wait for the oil to reach temperature before the car is given any stick.
