Bit of a childish question really just my mate just bought a porshe 911 Carerra convertible MY91 and I was wondering what would be the quickest that or
MY94 WRX Jap Import Full HKS EX AVO TMIC K&N Running Just over 1 bar Boost. Cheers its just he has been taking the piss saying I will tow you, all the usual badgering tactics. Cause if I know it will beat it I will race him and shut the fooker up if not I would prefer the torment of possible scooby whipping lmao :) BHP may help also i.e what the Porshe is supposed to be and what mine is roughly pushing out. cheers guys. |
Your wip his ar$e. If you don't then you need a faster car :D

lol cheers mate I am gonna wind him up tonight for a change :)
|
He has 250 bhp and 2WD, it'll be closer than you think.
Just make sure you dont fluff your start! If it's at higher speeds, don't count your chickens. |
Cheers, so if his is 250BHP what do you think mine is pushing out cause they are 260bhp std witha add ons 300bhp ?
Higher speeds yeah 3.6ltr no chance, I would say looking at short strip race.........not on a road of course because thats illegal :) [Edited by scrappy_doo - 10/07/2003 11:43:13] |
Remember that your's is only 260bhp on 100 Ron fuel. If you are using 97 Ron i.e Super Unleaded you might be pushing out 245ish or less.
|
leave the spare wheel + toolkit at home, not a lot of fuel and some octane booster ;)
|
You'll also have higher drivetrain losses, i.e. he could be putting down more power to the wheels.
|
don't forget 94 wrx's only had 240ps NOT 260 on 100RON
Just make sure you race him in the wet :D |
Had a play with one of these. Accellerating off roundabouts up to 70ish theres nothing in it. I've got a 95WRX with very similar mods to yours.
|
Guy at work has same car. Yesterday evening had a little play going home from work. We came out of a tight bend so I stayed well behind (about 6 car length’s) coz I didn't want him to put it in the wall.
Up to 60/70 I was closing the gap (MY96 UK Turbo approx. 240 BHP), once at 90 his car just left me, felt like I was going backwards. He was impressed how quickly my car closed him down and I was impressed how quick his car is from 80/90. |
I am running optimax with Castrol octane boost so more or less 100RON I think.
I will just have to make sure I get good start and race him 0-100 then by the sounds :) cheers for opinions guys. |
had a play with one of these in the STI-8 PPP and it lost but its a pretty good car and to be honest the scoob wasn't pulling away to dramatically either, and the scoob is running 300bhp
|
This should not be about straight line speed (I am sick to death about all these f'ing threads about which is faster a Scoob or a Harrier Jump Jet?)!!!!
I just came off the Don Palmer Creative Car COntrol course where a guy had one of these 911's and I was running my UK standard MY97 Turbo, fitted with Eibachs and 215/40/16 F1's, and the Porsche could NOT go through the course as fast as I could, the entry speeds into the chicanes were considerably faster in the Scoob, despite the fact that of course the Porker got up to a higher speed in the approach. End of story. Canuck [Edited by Canuck - 10/07/2003 18:01:51] |
wach you dont burn the cluch on the start, scooby,s have plastic one,s funny thing is they never smell of burnt plastic, weird, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
|
Like canuck said- Straight line speed is one thing. Get him on the twisties and it will be a different story;):D:D Greg |
If your's is silver you have a better chance.
|
And if you have gold wheels, he will have no chance. lol.

I used to have a 210bhp 306 GTI-6 and raced a carera 4. There was nothing between us really, so I would imagine your scoob will be the aprox the same.
Get a TypeR/A, then you can take the piss out of him all you like. I can vouch for this as I have upset 2 carera owners with mine. |
I'd quite fancy my chances against a Harrier Jump Jet. Their 0-60 times aren't that impressive and their RWD doesn't help on the hairpin bends. :D
In a straight line after the first quarter of a mile you could be in trouble though. |
