Think my motor has piston slap - I have read all the threads on this subject.
Finally and definatively - do I get it fixed?
I have a warranty but it is not a Subaru one.
How much will it cost and can anyone recommend someone to do it if I decide to get it fixed?
I have a MY97 UK Turbo 2000 with 54k miles.
Is there anyone who has left it only to find BIG problems later on in their cars life?

ld have thought the only thing u would have to pay for if u left itis exactly what your thinking about paying for now?

rebore and pistons?
or is it just a new piston or 2?

I was told that one slightly oversized piston would cure it.
A kit available from Subaru I believe as so many had this problem.

Go to your dealer and get a good will guesture put into Subaru UK to get it paid for by Subaru UK, I've got a MY98 with 44k on her and just had mine done by Vales of Yeovil.

And no I don't have a Subaru warranty, you have to have FSSH thou.

Cheers

Dan

Thanks people.
Reckon I have decided to check with Subaru first and if no joy leave it a bit longer.
Its not too bad - yet
