As you all may or may not know me big machine has gone t1ts up. now i can get a windows 95 lappy outta work. i currently have my xp pro machine connected to a 4 port router. my NTL cable modem is connected to the router as well. i have a couple of questions.

1. i assume my big machine doesnt need to be switched on to connect the lappy to the cable modem

2. how do i configure the lappy to run with the cable modem. i need a run thru as i know feck all about networking. i tried ipconfig on the lappy and it came up with bad command error.

i tried to use the broadband installer cd that came with my cable modem but it doesnt support winblows 95. so......

3. is there anyway i can configure windys 95 network settings manually to work with the router and get back on the net.
