just looking for some help,

the out-laws are looking to buy a smart cabrio, preferably a demo version with 1000 - 3000 miles.

anyone know how much these are going for and what to look out for, either good or bad?

cheers

Steve

I own an 03 plate smart passion cabrio and i love it. One of the major things to look out for is the clips on the rear of the cabrio hood. The final stage of putting the roof back up is a manual operation and the clips are said to be very delicate. You have to push them gently into place but i have seen people slam the roof shut which apparently after several months of use will see the clips shatter into thin air and hello expensive new hood. Also, as with any cabrio, the rear perspex window is quite sensitive and can be scratched if cleaned using unsuitable cleaning products/cloths etc.

Hope this helps :)

I had the 6th one in the UK. It leaked, but i think they had a recall to fit new hoods. I only kept it for 6 weeks, then they suddenly became a gay icon car and I couldn't look at it the same way after that.
