Hotel Eden (Le Meridien). A few minutes walk from the Spanish Steps (but far enough away to be nice and quiet). Top service, good rooms and a great view from the terrace bar. Go there at sunset for a drink. Pricey, but you did say 5*:)

When do you want to go? A week end? When?

eighth and ninth of this month ie tuesday and wednesday night.

I recently spent a weekend in the Hotel Raphael which is near the Piazza Navona (very central for the sights). Cost £587 for 3 nights room only. Breakfast was 24 euros each, needless to say we eat out. 2 coffees and 2 Baileys £20. Bit expensive but well worth it.

From a meridian hotels competition years ago won a two night stay in any meridian hotel around the world. Rung them up and the prize was still valid. :)
