I'm sure Chiark will confirm but I think thats the one I have used - an Autoleads PC2-44-4

If you dont order it from there, it is a special order item from Halfords. However, my local independent 'proper' car audio shop had one in stock and said they usually carry them, so may be worth giving any near you a call and you may be able to pick one up straight away.

Hi,

I tried a seach and got conflicting answers... so hear goes.

I am changing my head unit on my03 and need to know if I have to buy an ISO adapter or is that standard on the car? I went to Halfords and the guy said I don't need one as its standard??

Has anyone changed an 03 modal? if so can you answer this for me please....

Cheers

Canonical answer: Yes, you need an ISO adaptor.

Canonical???!! Looked that up and still don't know what it means...

Thanks for the quick reply. I rang a Subaru dealer and he said I would not need one? I think I'll just get one anyway.

Have you changed your 03 modal then?

I've always used it to be "absolute reference", but I'm probably wrong :D

Yes, I've changed the head unit in my 03 WRX.

Take the thing out and look if you want to confirm it for yourself, it's the work of five minutes :D .

- Remove the screws in the cup holder
- pull the middle air vents out
- gently prise the front fascia of the heater controls off, working around evenly
- voila, 6 screws and the ISO cage is out.

Yup, the PC2-44-4 or whatever is what I used, and others.

It's all in the FAQ - http://www.chiark.com/scooby/icetoc.asp
