Does anyone know if the Civic Jordan (the yellow one) is the same spec as the Jap Civic type R? - both previous models?
|
Nope.. it's the same spec as the uk 1.6 vtec. 164 bhp :)
Spec: 1.6 B16A DOHC Vtec Engine Limited Edition Jordan F1 Team model 500 Made Full Black and Yellow leather interior Type R Rear spoiler Type R Front grill [Edited by Avi - 6/29/2003 7:25:32 PM] |
Whats the spec of the typeR?
|
197bhp
1.8 Vtec White Black Silver or Red... AFAIK Recaro Front Bucket Seats LSD Probably more, but cant remember anything else just now!! :D Cheers, Grant |
I thought the Jordan had 158bhp to be precise (although some people round it up to 160bhp), whereas the JDM-only Type R (also 1600cc) kicked out an incredible 185bhp
Heres Bulgins article: http://www.honda.org.uk/honda_integr...ic_type_r.html No LSD on the Civic and well peaky power delivery, but just look at that 0-60 time - yet to be bettered by a front wheel drive car. Was considering a Jordan but the Rallye got the nod, and was cheaper as well. Bet Hondas are screwed together better though. [Edited by TurboBoost - 6/29/2003 8:09:22 PM] |
Turboboost is correct, and its still a 1.6 engine on the early ones. The ITR got the 1.8 version.
Fundamentally the same motor though. |
Yup - its just a rebadged and limited edition colour of a Civic VTi.

JDM CTR
1.6 - b16b 183bhp - 185ps ABS, PAS, Electric Mirrors, Electric Mirrors, Red Recaros (Same as ITR (DC2), LSD, Front Strut Brace in Red, 5 Lug wheels, same gearbox/clutch/Brakes as ITR with shorter ratios. 0-60 - 5.7 Top Speed - 146mph proven with recording equipment on an Autobahn in Grmany last year. My old modded one ran a 1/4 mile in 14.01. The only thing the Jordan has in common is the Civic name and shell, virtually everything is different. |
Just out of interest what are 1998/1999 CTRs worth? (if you can find one, which is virtually impossible)
[Edited by TurboBoost - 6/30/2003 1:12:10 PM] |
They seem to hold there value pretty well as they are in such small numbers over here and a bit of a cult car, I looked at the prices before I bought an ITR, didn't seem to be much under 9k for a 97/8 model, one import car specialist was asking 11,995 for a 98 model! After looking I decided the ITR was much better value, and also the better car.
I was under the impression that 2 versions were made of this CTR, one was a road going version with interior as per ITR but without the LSD, and the other, a stripped out racing version with cheap seats and steering wheel, but this came with LSD. |
how fast was the ek9?
|
see my post above.
There were numerous versions, which included a stripped out version. The spec above is the full spec. |
